About raanz
Recreational Aircraft Association of New Zealand (RAANZ) is a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) part 149 approved organisation for microlight aviation.
We oversee pilot and instructor qualifications, aircraft inspections and modifications. We support a strong and safe recreational flying community throughout New Zealand.
We are also an Incorporated Society, owned by all our current members and administered by an elected Executive Committee who oversee our operations and appoint the Senior Persons required by CAA.

From August 2025 RAANZ operates under a new Exposition, with significant changes to the Microlight Pilot Certificate structure.

Clubs may appoint a club member or exec member as proxy to represent the majority vote of their club. Individual members may vote independently in person.
